What are the house rules? Please be aware of the House Rules in place at our vacation rental. Understanding and complying with our house rules will make for a comfortable and fun stay for everyone! 1. Per the Douglas County Vacation Home Rental noise ordinance, quiet hours are from 9pm - 8am. We hope you have lots of laughter and fun times during your vacation, however, we’d really appreciate it if you’re mindful and keep noise to a minimum during quiet hours. Failure to do so may result in a fine from Douglas County. 2. We have parking space on our property for up to three vehicles. Please park your vehicles in the designated driveway and/or garage space, ensuring cars do not block the road or neighboring driveway. Failure to do so may result in a fine from Douglas County. 3. Absolutely no parties. Smoking is not allowed anywhere inside the house or on the property. 4. Our property borders National Forest Land and there is wildlife in the area, including bears. NEVER leave any food or garbage outdoors or in your vehicle as this will attract the bears. Bears in Lake Tahoe frequently break into homes when open windows and doors are left unattended and there is food inside. As a reminder, always close and lock all windows and doors when you're not home to prevent bear break-ins. 5. Remove shoes upon entry and be sure to maintain a good level of cleanliness throughout your stay. This will make it much easier when check-out time comes and will help avoid additional cleaning fees. We hope you’ll enjoy the local winter activities but please be sure to leave all skis/snowboards, boots and wet winter gear on the coat rack and rubber mats provided in the mud room. 6. Never leave the garage doors open. The furnace and water heater are located in the garage and expensive damage can be caused to these systems if the garage door is left open. 7. Please use the coasters and placemats provided throughout the house to prevent damages due to cold and/or hot items being placed on surfaces. 8. While we know our guests won’t intentionally break anything at our vacation rental, we understand accidents can happen sometimes. Always report any accidental damages or breakages in a timely manner, especially before check-out. In case of any accidental damage, we’ll look into the issue to decide if and how much the deduction or repair cost will be. In the case of any damage to the property or it’s appliances that are not covered by our insurance, the guest will pay for the repair costs from the security deposit.

Our favorites are Safeway in Round Hill (approx 3 miles/6 minute drive from the house) and Whole Foods in South Lake (approx 3.6 miles/9 minute drive from the house). There is an additional Safeway location in South Lake Tahoe but it's often very crowded, especially on weekends so we suggest avoiding it. Grocery delivery is also available via Instacart. For beer, wine & liquor, Dart Discount Liquors right at the bottom of Kingsbury Grade (approx 1.7 miles/4 minute drive from the house) has great selection and prices.

How do you handle snow removal at your vacation rental during the winter months? We’ve partnered with All Clean Snow Removal to provide driveway snow removal services at the house during the winter season. When 6 inches or more of snow accumulates, an All Clean crew member will be there within 24 hours or less to clear the driveway. We ask that guests make use of the parking space in the 1-car garage to create access for snow removal operations during snowstorms. We’ve also partnered with a local hand shovel crew who handles snow removal for the front entry and back patio prior to each guest check-in. Shoveling service is not provided mid-stay, however we do provide (2) shovels and de-icing salt in the garage for your use if necessary.
